About Me
Educational Background:
I have a PhD in Organic and Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Calgary, Alberta (Grade: 4.0 GPA). In addition, I have a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from University College Cork, Ireland (Grade: First Class Honours).Teaching Experience:
During my graduate studies, I served as a Teaching Assistant for the following university-level courses: Organic Chemistry I & II, Medicinal Chemistry & Write and Review Scientific Papers.Teaching assistants supervise labs, deliver tutorials, grade student work and work one-on-one with students to help them understand lecture content. In 2024, I was awarded the Faculty of Science Don Tavares Award for Best Teaching Assistant in the Chemistry Department.I also served as a Sessional Instructor in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Calgary, where I delivered lectures and facilitated tutorials for a class of 35 students. In this role, I also worked one-on-one with students outside of lectures and tutorials to help their understanding.I recently earned a certificate in University Teaching and Learning from the Taylor Institute at the University of Calgary.Industry Experience:
Before my doctoral studies, I worked at Johnson & Johnson through their graduate recruitment program as a Quality Control Analyst.During this time, I was awarded a Silver Encore Award for excellence in training and team support.Teaching Beliefs:
Learning should be both engaging and student-centred.My goal is to help you or your child not only understand chemistry but also grow in confidence as a learner.I'm deeply empathetic and patient, and I work hard to meet students where they are, so they can succeed and meet their full academic potential.
